Criminal Justice is available as a major on the B.S. degree and as a minor on the B.A. and B.S. degrees.
The Criminal Justice Major at TCU
General Requirements: Please note that the Criminal Justice Program recently revised its Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice degree general requirements. These changes were made to ensure that we can produce graduates who are academically trained and ethically prepared for life beyond TCU.
Students who declared Criminal Justice as their major prior to the beginning of the Fall 2006 semester will operate under the earlier set of requirements (click here for requirements); those declaring Criminal Justice their major beginning Fall 2006 must meet a different set of requirements (click here for requirements).
The Criminal Justice Minor
at TCU The CJ minor requires eighteen credit hours (i.e., 6 courses):
Required core CRJU courses: 6 semester hours CRJU 20413 Introduction to Criminal Justice CRJU 30313 Criminology
+ 4 additional CRJU courses (your choice): 12 semester hours
NB: Transfer students may receive a maximum of 9 hours credit in the major for Criminal Justice courses taken at accredited colleges and universities. A maximum of 6 hours may be counted toward the minor. The Director of the Criminal Justice Program will determine the applicability of such coursework to the program's degree requirements.
